Yes, you heard it right. The Portuguese government has signed a new contract and announced new regulations. The government will now issue work permits to foreign workers within 20 days of applying for a visa. It’s a new type of work visa introduced by Portugal.
Labor Shortage in Portugal

New Processing Time
From April 15, any employer who sponsors any person in Portugal from any third country will have only 20 days for processing.
Conditions for Employees
Certain conditions have been established for employees to qualify under this 20-day rule. For which the first important thing is that your employer, that is you, has found a job in Portugal. After that, your employer applies for you to the local government for permanent work confirmation. So it will be necessary for him first to present the work contract that he has signed with you.
