Announcement of DAMA Program Version 3
The Australian Immigration Department has given good news, which means that the Northern Territory has released the third version of its DAMA program, which is called the Designated Area Migration Agreement, from 19 March 2025.

Program Duration and Quota
This means that this program will be active from 31 March 2025 to 30 June 2030 i.e. for 5 years, in which 1500 foreign workers will be able to get work permit every year.
What is the DAMA Program?
The DAMA program is a formal agreement between the Commonwealth of Australia. The Designated Area Representative, also known as DR, can also include state or territory governments or regional bodies. This agreement makes it possible for the designated area to hire a large number of overseas workers through the Standard Skilled Worker Visa Program.
Included Visa Subclasses
Types of visa programs that use this visa include employers and the Australian Home Affairs. That subclass of 482 Skills in Demand S ID, apart from this subclass, 494 Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Provisional Visa and after this subclass 186 Employer Nominated Scheme NAS. These are such visa programs whose visa requirements are complete, then through DAMA Northern Territory, you can also apply for the third version Australia’s employment permit.
Eligibility Criteria
If we talk about the eligibility criteria for the DAMA program, then its details are something like this. The applicants cannot apply for work permit for the DAMA program on their own, they must get sponsorship through an Australian employer for the designated region who is sponsoring this program, the occupations should be registered in the DAMA agreement, which are offered only for workers roles, currently 325 occupations have been kept in this DAMA 3 version.
Expansion of Occupations and Nominations
Which was previously 100 35 and apart from this, the nominations have been kept at 1500 annually, which was previously only 625. This means that the Northern Territory and the Australian Government want to recruit more people this time.
Application Process and Timeline
In terms of more occupations, it is expected that the availability for applications will start from 31 March 2025, and the application process is in three phases.
Phase 1: Employer Endorsement
First of all, the employer endorsement will be necessary for the employer to be endorsed by Migration AT i.e. Immigration Northern Territory and they should have a 5- year labor agreement with the Department of Home Affairs. Only after that they can recruit you for any job offer from these 325 occupations.
Phase 2: Job Offer
After that, they will provide you with a job offer no matter which country you belong to, for these 325 eligible occupations.
Phase 3: Employee Application Submission
Once you have a job offer and you have completed the other documents and requirements. Employees can submit applications through the Northern Territory DAMA portal.
Pathway to Permanent Residence
